January 12 - February 12, 2008

HI!

So, we started this blog back at the beginning of December, but didn't get too far. Here we are again, attempting to make a go of this site to keep family and friends updated on what's going on in our world (but mostly so you can get your Morgan fix as often or as little as you'd like). I figure a big ol' Morgan update and photo collection is an appropriate way to start. Morgan Mila will be six month's old on the 15th. I cannot believe she is that old; time has flown by way too fast! We love Morgan so much and adore her like no other. She is such a precious little joy and we can't imagine life without her. We treasure every second with her and look forward to a lifetime of sweet smiles, laughter and adventures with Mo. Some updates to bring you up to speed on the last month (since we came back from Christmas break in Utah)...

CEREAL

Daddy moved on to his second semester at school while baby moved on to her second phase of eating - rice cereal. These two pictures (1/17/08) are day two of eating...the first and last time I will try feeding in a bouncer (we didn't have a high chair yet). We had some struggles the first week and I had to remind myself that nursing was also difficult when we first started. Things have gotten much better. Mo moved on to baby oatmeal and barley cereal and has done well.

WEBBIES' HOUSE

We spent part of the MLK Jr. weekend in Pittsburgh, visiting Webb's (Ali's sister & family). I didn't take a good representation of pictures, but we had a lot of fun with Keith, Bonnie Jean, Kaden, Alyssa, and Kimmy. Mo sure loves her cousins - I can see her watching and learning - she even squeals and screams more these days. Our visit included lots of good food, Kaia in heaven in their huge back yard, a Utah-BYU basketball game that didn't turn out well, playing Wii, visiting, a trip to the grocery store where we got to see the short short cashier lady (Ryan would call a midget), swimming and running at the YMCA, BJ's faith talk in Sacrament meeting, and the world famous Webb pudding. It's nice to have family closer than Utah.

VISITOR

Crazy Grandma (as Ryan calls her) came to visit from 1/27 - 2/2/08. Grandma's visits consist of everyone getting extra love and attention. Mo spent her mornings sleeping in w/ Gma while Ali took Ryan to school. When Grandma is here, Morgan has a best friend to hold, dress, change, love, feed, cuddle, and entertain her 24/7. I think the only time Mo is not being held is between the hours of 11p-6a, when she's asleep in bed. Kaia was in heaven too, having an old pal back to chum around with. I was able to go to a baby shower, a girls game night, and efficient grocery shopping and food prep this week thanks to Grandma being here. On Friday, 2/1/08, we all went to the Franklin Science Institute/Museum. That place is so cool - probably my favorite attraction in Philly at this point. Thanks Mom for coming out again, you're always welcome here...until you start kicking holes in the wall or something.

TEETH!

On Sunday 2/3/08, we discovered Mo's first tooth! This is a picture from a few days later. Look closely, it's her bottom left tooth and it seems her bottom right will be next. Since the tooth debut, she's been happily gnawing and sucking on anything and everything - her spoons, teethers, toys (hard and soft), our fingers, and her current favorite - the bee on her bouncer which has a hard plastic body with crinkly cloth wings.

MORE FOOD

Morgan's latest eating adventure is the "yellow vegetables". First off: carrots (I know, they're orange, but fall in the yellow family I guess). The first time (2/8/08) was hilarious. Mo did NOT like carrots. She gagged several times and made many "this is nasty" faces. Ryan loved that she hated veggies, I insisted that she was just getting used to them. Tonight is her fourth time with carrots and she's doing much better...in fact, she seems to like them!

Sweet potatoes and squash are next!

RANDOM SHOTS

Dressed up in our Sunday best. (Sorry, we don't know how to rotate these, yet.)

Hanging out with Daddy. (Yes, our Christmas tree is still up.)

I sometimes get mad...

...but I'm usually happy and content...

...or asleep.
Good Night!
